California Science Center visit...

Today we visited the CA Science Center. It was a lot of fun. The kids explored lots of things like how to prepare for an earth quake, how to prevent damage during an earth quake, the effects of drugs on your body and the economy, and lots of other stuff. We also got to see the CSI: Experience. This was a cool exibit where you were given a crime and you get to figure out who did it. They show you all the cool stuff on the show and all your results. We all got the killer right! For those of you who know Kellie, you know she is a CSI fanatic. So this was right up her alley. The place is so big that we were tired before we got to see it all. So we are planning a trip back in the near future. I have attached a picture of DJ, Ann, Kellie and I at the center.

Our Cozy Living Room

Here is a picture of our living room... what a cozy place. We got the furniture delivered on Monday night! It has been so nice having some place to sit!

Living Room Furniture

We spent most of the weekend looking for living room furniture. We thought we could find something new that was good, cheap enough for a few months use. After looking at all the new furniture and the options, we decided to go to craigs list. I found many options there... Monday we went out on an excursion looking at craigs list furniture. After our 2nd place we found the one we wanted. We settled on a black, leather couch and a chair w/ottoman. Kellie learned a new word in the process. "Ottoman" - foot stool. lol It has rained here the last couple of days... rained, cold, wet, and clammy. It is a sight to see after a heavy rain. The water sits on the side of the street and gets very deep. I'm glad I have my Tahoe. It usually doesn't take long to drain away though. The next couple of days are supposed to be close to 70!! Yippee! Were waiting for warm enough weather to go to the beach! Needless to say, our living room furniture will be delivered tomorrow. The rain was causing a delay. Were excited to deflate the blow up bed that is used for our couch. Oh, and retire the camp chairs to our patio.
School is going well with Kellie. Mostly better than I expected. At first it was intimidating to get started. Now that we have started it is getting easier for both of us.
Kellie has 2 auditions this week. She had to fill out an information sheet for the one tomorrow. Then later tonight she modeled outfits to wear. She is excited about her first audition tomorrow.
Gotta get to bed, Doreen :)

First CA Mail...

I got my first letter today in the mail! It was the cutest Valentine from my lovely daughter Jessica! I love you and miss you too!!

Thursday night update...

Hello, it has been a long week. We have met with Kellie's Manager and Agent (briefly). The meeting with the Manger went extremely well. We really love them! After the meeting I had a long to-do list. I had to get Kellie's resume updated, get her pictures and resume put on these acting websites. Then get her headshots and postcards (thank you's) printed. Once Kellie is on these websites, I can submit her for roles that she fits the part. There have been quite a few that I have submitted her for. Most you won't hear back right away, but most are filming in within a month.
Kellie has 3 main pictures... a serious, a half smile, & a full smile. The manager LOVES the serious picture! So that was awesome!
So by next week we should have everything done. Then we just wait for auditions. In addition to submitting for the website jobs, the Manager and Agent are also submitting her for other jobs too. So wish us many auditions coming for next week!

Happy Valentines Day!

We made it!

Were in North Hollywood, Baby! Kellie and I got on the road at noon on Thursday! It was smooth sailing! We stopped in St. George for gas and Kellie spotted a Barnes and Noble. We stopped there to get her some books to read.
We arrived at Barstow, CA about 8:30pm in the pouring rain. I decided that my body was sore and I was tired (because I was up til 2pm the night before packing) so we spent the night there. After a good nights rest, we were on the road and got into LA about 1pm. I fought the pouring rain for most of the drive into LA! What happened to SUNNY California? Where are the 90's they had the week before??
We got to the Coldwater Apts where we will be staying. Our apt is in a nice, clean area of North Hollywood. We have a 2br/2ba that is spacious for LA. We also have a nice pool. (still need a little warmer weather) We spent the rest of the day unpacking (in the rain), getting a bed frame (in the rain), and later getting groceries (in the rain).
Today, the sun is shining through the clouds some.
Thanks to everyone who is helping with jessica, sadie and ginger while I'm gone!

Greg - Got It All!

Greg got the all clear from the Doctor on Wednesday! He is healing well. He will now just go back for checks on his skin.

Surgery Day....

Greg's surgery went well. He is doing great! A little slow going as he recovers from the anesthesia. We go back for a follow up tomorrow. The Doctor said he would have the pathology report back tomorrow. So that will tell us if they got it all. Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers...
